Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 95 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. About Naenae Kindergarten

At Naenae Kindergarten children learn through a wide range of play experiences. Activities are set up which are meaningful and relevant to their interests, making learning fun. Mudslides and wet weather exploring are hugely popular activities, along with weekly trips around our local community.

We value the importance of celebrating the diverse cultures in our community through food, music, dancing and stories – all coming together at "our place - Naenae Kindergarten".

Our team is made up of a Head Teacher, four Teachers, a Kindergarten Administrator and a KidsCan Teacher Support.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and dedicated teacher to join the team at Naenae Kindergarten - are you excited to bring your own skills, talents and passion to our vibrant and diverse environment?

To be successful at Naenae Kindergarten, you will need to:

·         have sound knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki

·         value and celebrate each child’s unique personality

·         be able to work in partnership with your team, whānau and the community.

Applying for this role

Applicants must hold a:

  • Minimum of Dip. Tch (ECE or Primary)

  • Current Practicing Certificate from the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand

  • Current first aid certificate.

You must also have the legal right to work in New Zealand before applying for this role.

We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time.
